The team behind Universal’s successful “Fast & Furious” film franchise has released a heart-tugging video aptly titled “A Tribute to Paul Walker” following a crash in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend Roger Rodas.

The two-minute video contains scenes of Walker from the Fast and Furious films he played with Skylar Grey’s I’m Coming Home heard in the background.

On the YouTube page there’s a note that reads:
“Paul Walker’s family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends. They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul’s charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). Donations can easily be made through their website at www.ROWW.org.”

In the meantime, Universal said on Wednesday that it has shut down production of the seventh film of the series for an indefinite period.
RIP, both Paul and Roger.

多分、多くの方はご存じなかったでしょうが映画「ワイルドスピード」、実はユニバーサルスタジオ最大のヒット作なんです。シリーズ7作目にも取り組んでいたようですが主演の一人、ポール・ウォーカーが亡くなったことで撮影は一時凍結が発表されました。
そもそもは車好き向けに作られたものでしたが、意外と計算された内容なんです。

白人のみならずヒスパニック系、アジア系へのウケもしっかり狙っているんです。実際、ワイルドスピードを観に来るお客さんはヒスパニック系が多かった、と聞いています。

ポール・ウォーカーへ捧げるトリビュート、という題名でワイルドスピード製作陣が動画を作ったようです。YouTubeには親族が多くのファンからの温かいメッセージに感謝の言葉が記されていると同時に「花やギフトを贈って頂くのであれば、ポール・ウォーカー創設のチャリティファンド、“リーチアウトワールドワイド” www.ROWW.orgへの募金に替えて頂ければ幸いです」との要望も。

ポール・ウォーカーはチャリティに熱心で事故当日も、フィリピンのハリケーン被害へのチャリティ・カー・イベントに参加していたんです。早過ぎる死、惜しまれる死です。ご冥福をお祈りします。

なお、GT-R Otakuではこのような追悼の会を催す予定です。
