っで、映画「ワイルドスピード6」の撮影裏側もあったので、併せてご紹介しておきます。
Japan’s Super GT has changed its regualtions for 2014. GT500 machines are in accordance with DTM regulations having uniform monocoque tubs, made by Toray Carbon Magic, uniform suspensions and all cars to be built with left hand drive. The engines are regulated to be 4l V8 in DTM but Super GT500 will be 2l straight 4 turbo and engines are to be developed uniquely. In DTM, engines are all mounted in the front but Super GT allows midship as seen on Honda NSX Concept-GT. Honda NSX Concept-GT might have the advantage over other machines as it is a hybrid.
According to our sources, the new 2l turbo engines are so powerful that Lexus and Nissan are having troubles with their propeller shafts. There was a joint test held by all three competitors and Honda has its machine catching fire, apprently.
We have also heard that Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 uses Mercedes AMG Petronas’ wind tunnel for its aerodynamics. Nissan and Mercedes-Benz signed an alliance so we wouldn’t be so surprised. I, personally, think using Red Bull Racing’s facility would have caught more attention but… may be the wind tunnel at Mercedes AMG Petronas is better.

スーパーGT選手権のGT500はドイツツーリングカー選手権（DTM）と車両規定が統一されました。共通モノコック（トーレカーボンマジック製）の採用、共通のサスペンション全車左ハンドル化などが予定されていますが、搭載されるエンジンはDTMが自然吸気4.0L V8であるのに対し、従来通りスーパーフォーミュラ（旧フォーミュラ・ニッポン）と基本設計が共通の2.0L 直4 直噴ターボエンジンで独自開発が認められています。加えてそのエンジンの搭載位置も、DTMがフロントのみであるのに対し、ミッドシップも認められてホンダはNSX CONCEPT-GTを投入。NSX CONCEPT-GTはハイブリッドですから有利ですよねぇ。
GT-R Otakuが仕入れた情報によると新しいターボエンジンは強烈らしく、レクサスや日産はプロペラシャフトがテストではよく壊れているそうです。まぁ、合同テストではホンダの車両が燃えたという「噂」ですけどね・・・。
また、日産GT-R NISMO GT500はメルセデスAMGペトロナスの風洞施設で空力開発を行っているとか・・・。日産とメルセデスベンツは資本・業務提携を結んでいますからねぇ、まんざらでもないんでしょう。まぁ、個人的にはINFINITIがスポンサーしているRED BULLレーシングのほうがインパクトはあったと思いますけど・・・、風洞施設が優れているのはメルセデスAMGペトロナスってことでしょうか？（笑）。
Nissan’s Executive Vice President, Andy Palmer never fails to offer media with surprises. At Tokyo Motorshow, back in 2011, he stated “it’s a complete bullshit” on claims that electric automobiles simply transfer emissions from the vehicle’s tailpipe to the countless electricity-generating smokestacks across the globe. Last year, when Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ made their debuts, he called them “mid-life crisis cars” and made headlines… lol
And we applaud him for being so frank. In fact, he is awesome.
He’s an engineer, a business leader and a great driver, too, apparently. When NISMO GT-R was attempting for Nurburgring record lap, Andy drove a lap as well. His time was somewhere in 8minutes range and surprised all the people present.
Nissan just uploaded a video of Andy driving the new NISMO GT-R at Nissan’s test track in Tochigi prefecture. The video shows NISMO GT-R’s chief vehicle engineer explaining of the car and Andy driving… We would have loved to see Andy driving on Nurburgring though.
It’s nice to know that Nissan has car enthusiast as one of their executives!
日産自動車副社長のアンディ・パーマー氏、毒舌家で我々メディアに賑やかな話題を提供してくれる人物です（笑）。2011年、東京モーターショーの囲み取材中（発電所がCO2を排出しているかぎり）EVはCO2排出転嫁をしているだけではないか、という指摘に「it’s a complete bullshit」（英語圏では基本、放送禁止用語：でたらめ、という意味）と発してみたり、トヨタ86／スバルBRZにてついて「中年期の鬱病用」と称してみたり。
でも、凄い人なんです。
エンジニアで経営者で、運転技術もレーシングドライバーも驚くレベル、だと聞いています。なんでもNISMO GT-Rのニュルブルクリンク記録樹立時、実はパーマー氏もステアリングを握って周囲を驚かせるタイムをたたき出したとか。
そんなパーマー氏が栃木のテストコースでNISMO GT-Rのステアリングを握った姿が動画で公開されています。NISMO GT-Rのチーフ・ヴィークル・エンジニアがパーマー氏に説明、という体で撮影された動画ですが・・・、どうせならニュルブルクリンクの走りが見たかったです（笑）。
真面目な話、運転するのがお好きなようで、そんな方が経営陣に居るって知ると嬉しいですよね。
